Leaf Blower Noise Ordinances

Leaf Blower Noise Ordinances in the cities of Los Gatos, Palo Alto, Los Altos and Saratoga, Los Gatos, Palo Alto, and Los Altos all passed a noise ordinance ban restricting or eliminating the use of gas-powered leaf blowers within residential living zones.

  • Must use leaf blowers with less than 65 dBA
  • All leaf blowers used in Saratoga are certified by the manufacturer to produce no more than 65 A-weighted decibels (dBA) or less at a distance of 50 feet. Ordinance goes into effect October 1, 2019.
